[...] I had a chance to visit the Citizen Space a couple of weeks ago and I was amazed. Its an open space with desks, white boards and a conference room. Its shared by multiple companies. The cross-pollination possibilities are endless. In an age when we spend more and more time on-line, its amazing what having some face time does to the creative process. While there, I attended the Citizen Summit which was joined by 25 really, really sharp people with amazing ideas and strong convictions. [...]

I wonder how the acoustics are in that room? I could see organizing a jazz gig there sometime? (See my website.)

[...] Speaking of Co-Working, my friend Chris recently broke ground on a new co-working space in San Francisco (also home to Citizen Space/Citizen Agency).  “Coworking is cafe-like community/collaboration space for developers, writers and independents. Or, it’s like this: start with a shared office and add cafe culture. Which is the opposite of most modern cafes.” You might remember Chris as one of the founders of BarCamp (the technology un-conference that is sweeping the world). And we all know how much I Love BarCamp!
[...] Ok, so maybe this game wont make it to the shelves of your local toys-r-us, but I definitely see the fun and positive results that can come out of organizing a game called “Half Baked”. Recently executed at CitizenSummit, this game involves the mashing of seemingly unrelated words (which reminds me of some of these fun tools), and in a matter of minutes a small team turns the new pseudo-word into a business model, complete with revenue model, marketing tactics, tagline, and logo. And like many board games, I’m pretty sure that this one gets better with a couple of drinks, too. [...]

[...] Chris Messina, Tara Hunt and Ben Metcalfe recently setup their new office, Citizen Space, for their web consulting company Citizen Agency in San Francisco’s SOMA district. This new space will also serve as a venue for events like Net Tuesday, Mash Pit, movie nights and a bunch of other stuff. In addition to that, Citizen Space is an active Coworking space, a place where people can drop in and have a temporary office just for a day or even weeks at at time. To celebrate the opening of Citizen Space, they hosted a Citizen Summit yesterday in the style of a mini BarCamp. I stopped by to check it out and see their great new space. While there I shot a few photos. Photos of the Citizen Summit [...]
